Jeanne has a beautiful color combination featuring a couple of new colors (Fresh Freesia and Polished Pink) that blend beautifully with an old favorite - Old Olive. Dessert is gems.
I added a little, (OK, a lot!) of the neutral color Basic Gray. It seems to make the new colors pop.
It also allowed me to use a favorite technique I haven't used in a while. When used with Basic Gray cardstock and White craft ink I call it Carved Stone but it is really just tapping white craft ink onto your embossing folder before pressure embossing the gray cardstock.
I was going to use some Polished Pink ribbon but the pretty stripes at the edge of the ribbon were just a little too busy for my already busy background. So, I just colored some white seam binding with Smoky Slate Blends.
Thanks for taking a peek.
I sure hope you can come and play with us in the color challenge sandbox this week!
ETA: I just blogged about this card and the "carved stone" technique here.

Chris, you always come up with such neat uses for that white craft ink! I love this way to embellish an embossed layer. The stripe of gray/white flowers looks great with your colored version--a nice tie-in! Such a pretty card!

Chris what a lovely card! Love the stone look background, yes, another great idea! Your coloring on the flowers sure show off this week's colors beautifully, not to mention the coloring technique itself. TFS

I always forget about embossing, and it really dresses up a card as you have done here. Thanks for the reminder, this is absolutely beautiful. Chris thank you for choosing me for favorite card, it made my day!!!
